   Our church has as its backdrop the beautiful Koolau Mountains.  We are reminded of God’s handiwork every day!  
      Here at Windward Baptist Church we are also reminded of God’s handiwork in our own lives.  Our motto here at Windward is
“A Place Where Lives Change.”  As believers in our Saviour Jesus Christ we are a new creation.
"Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  2 Corinthians 5:17.  
We are not perfect, but we are different from what we were before salvation. God is working in us to be what he wants us to be.
      Here at Windward Baptist Church you will learn the Word of God.  Pastor Kevin Akana teaches the Bible verse by verse.  
He does not skip over the parts that are hard to understand or hard to live.
      When you come to Windward Baptist Church we hope you will be reminded of how much Jesus loves you

The History of our Church - 27 Years

Windward Baptist Church started out as a small Bible study in the home of Kevin and Roxanne Akana. The first Sunday Services were held on October 30, 1995 and there were eight people in attendance including Roxanne and their daughter Kelsie.  After a few months the Lord opened a door to rent a space in Temple Valley Shopping Center.  The church remained there one and a half years until another door opened for the church to move into an old tourist shop behind the Hygienic Store.  After much renovation this has been the home of Windward Baptist Church. God has definitely had his hand upon the ministry of this church and has brought many wonderful and faithful people to serve here.  The LORD has blessed Windward Baptist Church with 27 years of ministry here in Kahalu'u.  We are thankful for the years of service that God has given us, and we look forward to many more opportunities to serving the LORD.

Sunday School!

Come and join us for Sunday School Classes every Sunday at 9:00AM.

• Adult Bible Class
  • Taught by Pastor Mark. This is a verse by verse study in the book of Proverbs.  
• Couples Class
  • Taught by Pastor Kevin Akana.  This is a 6 week class.  You will learn how to have marriage that honors God.  Other topics will be how to deal with conflict, how to raise your children for God, as well as sexual intimacy in marriage.

• Junior Class
  • Ages 7-11; taught by Kimi Freitas.   Bible Stories, Games, and Treats, O My!  Your children will have fun as they learn God's Word.
• Kiddy Class
  • Ages 4, 5, 6; taught by Mrs. Linda Haggith.  Children will understand and have fun learning the Bible.  Flannel graphs and other teaching aides are used.

Beliefs

Our Doctrinal Statement

• We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired, totally accurate, only inspired Word of God (II Timothy 3:16-17). We believe the King James Version (KJV) to be the preserved Word of God for the English speaking people. The KJV is the only version of the Bible we use.

• We believe in the one Triune God, eternally existing in three Persons (Deuteronomy 6:4)

• We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:35, Philippians 2:5-8).

• We believe the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. The Holy Spirit indwells and seals every believer. We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues, were temporary and have ceased (John 16:8-11, Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:4-11, 28, Ephesians 4:7-12).​

• We believe that man was created in the image of God, but through Adam’s fall, man inherited a sinful nature (Romans 3:22-23, 5:12, 6:23).
• We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:12, Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10).
• We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40).

• We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to life eternal in heaven, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment in hell (John 5:28-29, 11:25-26).

• We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord (Romans 12:1-2, 14:13).
